HOLIDAY DIY: Deck-orate Your Home with Items You Have! Household Plants

What you need: 

• Any real or artificial house plant whose leaves can hold decorations 

• Skewers or chopsticks 

• Ornaments and ‘jewelry’  

• Earrings, necklaces, rings,etc 

• Ties from grocery items, paper clips or double stick tape 

• Optional for plant container:  

• Wrapping paper 

• Bow or ribbon 

How to create: 

• Ornamental Tree*: 

• Use chopsticks or skewers for center ornamental hold 

• Attach with ties, clips or double stick tape 

• Select a larger ornament and attach on chop stick or skewer on top with ties, clips or double stick tape 

• Stick firmly into center of plant 

• For artificial plants use a kid-friendly glue gun to ‘plant’ skewer of chopstick 

• Joy of Jewelry Tree*: 

• Decorate plant with rings and earrings  

• Use necklaces and chain bracelets as garland 

*Optional: 

• Wrap base first if covering it 

• Add bow when decorating is complete
