Get Rid of those PESKY Lipstick Stains from The Accidental Housewife

FORGET ME NOTS! 


  • Treat, pronto 

  • Read the care label 

  • Pretest an inconspicuous area first to insure no discoloration 

  • Never rub 

  • Do not put in dryer until stain is completely out. Heat will set the stain. 

 

What you need: 

  • Shaving Cream 

  • Rubbing Alcohol, Hydrogen Peroxide or Hairspray 

  • Paper Towels 

  • Clean dry towels 


How you remove: 

  • Place a clean paper towel under area where lipstick stain is 

  • Dab stain with shaving cream 

  • Alternatively, apply either rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide to stain and blot. Aerosol hairspray will also work to help lift stain. 

  • Launder par usual

Lipstick stains are deceptively stubborn, so the reminder to act carefully instead of rubbing them deeper into the fabric is genuinely useful. I appreciate household advice that explains the reasoning behind each step, since fabric type and product choice can change the result. The friendly tone also makes an annoying chore feel manageable. My own cleanup breaks often involve reading about Big Bad Dogs, though your practical stain routine is probably the wiser use of five minutes before a mark has time to set.
